Directions to La Detourbe from Calais, Boulogne or Dieppe :

The easiest and quickest way is to use the Autoroutes.  Toll costs from Calais are approximately £15 to £16 one way. Distance from Calais is approx 250 miles,  driving time of 4 to 4 ½ hours.

If your port is Calais (Tunnel or Ferry) head south on the A16. Initially follow signs for Boulogne/Rouen. Stay with the A16 following signs for Amiens .   Just before you get to Abbeville,  turn onto the A 28 towards Rouen .  After Neufchatel-en-Bray, look for the turning  onto the A29 towards Le Havre . Look for signs for Pont de Normandy.  Go over two large bridges, one of which is a toll bridge. After the Pont de Normandy, turn onto the A13 towards Caen .

If you are coming in via Dieppe turn right onto the autoroute outside Dieppe and make for Caen .

At Caen get onto the peripherique heading Sud ( South - Clockwise ). Come off at Junction 13 signposted Alencon/Argentan/Falaise and take the N158 South. The N158 bypasses Falaise . Stay on the N158 (Argentan/Alencon). At Argentan (at a set of traffic lights) turn right onto the D924 signposted to Flers.

Stay with the D924 until the first roundabout and then take the second exit signposted Ranes/La Ferte Mace . This is the D916.

(an alternative country route from Falaise is the D509 which turns into the D909 through Putanges to Ranes )

Through Ranes , stay with the D916 for La Ferte Mace. Four miles on your right (just after a small lake on your left and a sweeping right hand bend) is La Detourbe . There is a white signpost outside. Remember we are set back 50 metres off the main road. There are three houses on the La Detourbe plot. We’re the long one on the left
